How to Get Along with Pet Parrots

How to Get Along with Pet Parrots

You can follow several principles below to help you get along with your parrot.

1. Be Close and Friendly

Birds raised little by little from parrot hatching are easier to cultivate feelings. You and the parrot will more easily establish a basis of friendly trust. It will more freely fly and play in front of you, which is beneficial for your training of the parrot.

2. Find the Right Timing

Parrots also have joys, angers, sorrows, and delights, and will also be in a daze and be amusing. They also have expressions! So, one must choose appropriate timing to interact or train with it. Do you sometimes also want "quietly"? It is the same!

3. Emphasize Communication

Parrots are birds commonly acknowledged for being able to talk. At the same time, its commonality with other pets is that they can all understand your language, as long as you cultivate slowly. Every time you want it to do something, try to accompany it with language. The first time it might not be clear what you mean, but the second time, third time..., there will always be one time it can understand. At that time, won't you feel a great sense of achievement?

4. Food "Lure"

Almost all pets cannot resist food, and parrots are no exception. So, at this time, one can skillfully use food to train the parrot. For example, use food to guide it to spin, let it jump onto your hand, and so on. But after it finishes, you must give it the food. We must keep our word, otherwise the parrot will not listen to you next time.

5. Appropriate Reward

Every time we do something excellent, we hope to receive rewards or praise, and parrots are the same. So every time the parrot completes something according to your request, you must appropriately give rewards, such as petting, food, and so on. Following these principles, you will believe you will get along very well with your Cockatiel parrot.
